The Position
Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) is a drug product & finished goods manufacturing organization responsible for the reliable delivery of Roche’s commercial portfolio & pipeline products. The Operations organization at HTO is divided into 3 value streams, which combine to produce millions of units of life-saving medicine every year to patients around the world.
The Opportunity:
The position is located in Hillsboro, On-site.
Monday-Thursday From 5:30am-4pm (some Saturdays)
In this exciting role, you will perform a wide variety of tasks and operations that are required to formulate, fill, inspect, and package sterile pharmaceutical products in a state-of-the-art, automated production and packaging facility. Troubleshoot, maintain and continuously improve all production equipment as required. You will participate in planned maintenance events. You will coach and develop technical capabilities on associated operation shifts to promote process knowledge depth for the frontline team. You will perform operations that will be carried out in compliance with cGMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product recipes, and Genentech standards.
- You will assist in set up, change over, and test run equipment for various-sized vials and packages as required
- You will execute production recipes, check-in equipment, and perform material movements using automated computer software applications (SAP and MES systems)
- You will operate all formulation, sterile filling, inspection, and final vial packaging equipment in the plant as required
- You will assist in the cleaning, set-up, sterilization, and dis-assembly of a variety of processing equipment
- You will conduct environmental monitoring activities in the manufacturing areas as required, including routine cleaning and housekeeping activities to maintain an environmental grade of each manufacturing area.
- You will prior to start-up, during processing, and at the completion of the manufacturing process, perform all documentation and clerical functions to provide the proper accountability and traceability of components and finished product
- You will at the start and finish of each shift, report and make recommendations regarding equipment, supplies, required repairs, process and safety concerns, and areas for improvement in reliability, yield, and efficiency
- You will adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures and proactively identify unsafe conditions
Who you are:
- You are a graduate with a High school diploma or equivalent
- You have 1 to 2 years (within the last 7 years) experience minimum in the operation of complex electro- mechanical equipment used in the washing, filling, conveying, sealing, inspection, and packaging of products/containers
- You are able to work all shifts (1st, 2"d, or 3rd) and are able to work overtime as needed
- You are able to lift 45 pounds and stand for an extended period of time.
- You are able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job
- You must pass a vision acuity and color discrimination test
- You are computer literate, including the ability to interface with computer systems and PLC-based logic. Must be comfortable working with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), navigating through web pages and e-mail. Must possess basic typing skills.
Preferred:
- You are a graduate of a two-year associate degree program in a technical discipline: Electro-Mechanical or Mechatronic (preferred), BioScience, etc.

- You can identify opportunities to improve leveraging data analytics of system performance to deliver reduced costs and increased efficiency.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Hillsboro, OR is $50,000- $92,800. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
