Global Development Summer Intern Positions:
The US 2025 Summer Intern Program will encompass several functions that focus on the delivery of patient-centric solutions across clinical drug-development processes such as:
- Early and late-stage drug development & delivery
- Site engagement
- Clinical trial management within various therapeutic areas across all phases of clinical trials (including study start up)
- Quantitative & statistical sciences
- Medical writing
- Integrated technologies (ex. Tableau/Power BI data analytics, forecasting/financial systems/web-based interfaces data flows, SAP/Alteryx technologies, etc.)
- End-to-end business operations, including DE&I efforts, culture initiatives, and
- Risk management
All candidates will support projects aligned with our Credo values and strategic priorities.
The Intern Program will provide undergraduate students with practical experience focusing on certain aspects of the delivery of global clinical trials. This will include working with cross-functional teams, understanding global regulations, and gaining exposure to processes, roles, and functions supporting how J&J Innovative Medicine delivers medicine to patients. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work beyond clinical trials and gain insights across clinical supplies, trials, and submissions, support integrated end-to-end drug development at the asset level, and gain further knowledge into data science and AI.
Global Development offers a fast-paced cross-functional, technologically advanced environment with passion for developing individual projects and partnership management skills through early talent engagement. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about compound development, therapeutic areas, disease states, and portfolio management.
Life as a Global Development Summer Intern:
The Summer Intern Program provides real-life hands-on experience, education, coaching, mentoring, and networking opportunities to meet people globally from various cross-functional areas. Each intern will be assigned to a single function within Global Development with a specific project for the 12-15 week duration. It is mandatory for each intern to adhere to applicable SOPs, Work Instructions, Policies, Codes of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Local Regulatory requirements, etc., and will be required to comply with relevant training. The Intern Program and each intern will adhere to the following framework:
- Typically run from May 2025 – August 2025
- Hybrid work model (3 days at one of local sites, 2 days remote)
- Required 40-hour work week
- Responsible for own transportation to local site(s)
- Assignment area and work-site location to match business needs
- Summer Intern Project to be conducted beyond the daily work assignment
- Pay rate determined on the grade level at time of offer
- Career mentorship with networking opportunities within assigned team and beyond

Qualifications
Required:
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now, or in the future (ex. H1-B).
- Candidate must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of the Intern assignment pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- By start date, candidate must be considered an undergraduate sophomore or above
- Minimum GPA of 3.6 or higher
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship/co-op
- Ability to provide transportation to/from the work location
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills
Preferred:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred
- Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while executing results
- Must be a self-starter works independently while contributing to the team goals
- Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
The anticipated base pay for this position is Sophomore $25.00/hr, Junior $26.00/hr, Senior $27.00/hr, Master’s degree $33.00/hr.
