2025 Summer Intern - gRED Development Sciences
Department Summary
Development Sciences (DevSci) spans the entire drug discovery and development cycle — from early stage research to drug commercialization. We strive towards our vision to revolutionize and accelerate drug development through cutting-edge predictive and translational sciences. The Enabling Science department in DevSci helps to clear the path for drugs to reach patients by providing innovative and efficient business solutions and vital business support. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA, on-site.
The Opportunity
- Collaborate with internal teams and key stakeholders (i.e., legal, scientists across DevSci and Translational Medicine functions) to identify and improve processes related to contract management or legal, such as training opportunities for stakeholders and contract turnaround times.
- Under internal guidance, draft, review, and negotiate basic service agreements.
- Develop documentation and guidance to improve and simplify legal, contract, or business management processes, and set stakeholder expectations.
- Assist with other legal and business management projects as assigned.
- Engage in event planning to foster community building within company culture.
- Present progress updates and stakeholder findings to the Enabling Science department.
Program Highlights
- Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
- Program start dates are in May/June (Summer) 2025.
- A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
- Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are
Required Education:
You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Must be pursuing a Juris Doctor
- Must be pursuing LLM (Master of Laws) degree (enrolled student)
Required majors: Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Engineering, and related scientific majors; or Legal Studies, Political Science, and similar majors with meaningful coursework completed in a science or engineering discipline.
Required Skills
- Adept at learning new technologies and software applications.
- Be a good self-learner and detailed oriented.
- Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to take initiative and work directly with key stakeholders.
- A strong interest in working across disciplines in a variety of fields.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- Experience with reviewing contracts and understanding legal contract principles.
- Working knowledge of basic project management principles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $25.00- $40.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
